Pakistan accuses suspended provincial government of colluding with militants
Pakistan’s federal government accused the suspended Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration, led by Imran Khan’s party, of working “hand in glove” with the Pakistani Taliban.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said the government had “solid evidence” supporting the allegations.
Tarar said the suspension and emergency declaration would improve coordination between security forces and the new administration against terrorism.
PTI spokesperson Zulfiqar Bukhari rejected the allegations, while the party prepared legal challenges against the emergency decree.
The measure, announced on Sunday (11), provides for a six-month suspension and detention of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, accused of facilitating actions by Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
