BlackRock Strategies Power Three New Ondo Portfolio Tokens
The new tokens package BlackRock-developed portfolio strategies into single onchain instruments that can be transferred peer-to-peer and used across decentralized finance applications.
- On Thursday, September 24, 2026, Ondo Finance launched Ondo Intelligent Portfolios, tokenized investment products based on strategies developed by BlackRock for eligible non-United States investors.
- Ondo Finance created infrastructure enabling professional portfolio construction onchain, where automated rebalancing executes at the smart contract level and investors hold weighted asset baskets without managing individual positions.
- Lisa O'Connor, Global Head of Model Portfolio Solutions at BlackRock, introduced three strategies: BLKHIon, BLKDIGon, and BLKGRWon. "Portfolios like these have never been available onchain," O'Connor said.
- Ondo Global Markets issues each token, which investors mint or redeem for economic exposure. "Holding a portfolio token provides economic exposure to the portfolio's underlying basket," Acting CEO Ian De Bode explained, with tokens transferable across DeFi protocols.
