- On Wednesday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi signed memoranda of understanding for 14 projects worth around ₹2.10 lakh crore with the Adani Group and International Holding Company during investor outreach in the UAE.
- Seeking to diversify beyond conventional mineral extraction, Odisha is leveraging its industrial ecosystem to attract investments in downstream manufacturing and critical minerals while deepening trade links with the UAE.
- The proposed projects are estimated to generate around 8.7 lakh employment opportunities, including approximately 1.9 lakh direct jobs, 4 lakh indirect roles, and 2.8 lakh construction-related positions.
- IHC Group Managing Director Syed Basar Shueb and Adani Group representatives Karan Adani and Sagar Adani participated in Dubai discussions where Majhi invited them to explore port-led development investments.
- Indian Business & Professional Group representatives also met Majhi to discuss increasing exports of Odisha-origin products like ginger and seafood, while exploring deployment of skilled professionals to the UAE.
