Adani Enterprises to sell up to 5.54% stake in airport unit to Temasek, BlackRock
On Sept 9, 2026, Adani Airport Holdings Limited signed binding agreements to raise $1 billion from a consortium including Alpha Wave Global, Premji Invest, Temasek, and BlackRock by selling a 5.54% stake.
This transaction values Adani Airport at $18 billion pre-money and marks the first foreign investment since resolving bribery allegations. Adani Airport operates eight airports in India, including Mumbai, handling about 96 million passengers annually.
Proceeds will support expansion and modernization of airport infrastructure across AAHL's portfolio and accelerate development of Adani Airport City ecosystems with 22 million sq. of mixed-use development planned to serve 200 million passengers annually.
Arun Bansal, CEO of Adani Airport Holdings, said they will "scale it into the world's largest airports platform." Jeet Adani, Non-Executive Director, added the partnership marks an important milestone for AAHL's growth.
Investors will subscribe to new equity shares in three tranches, with the final tranche expected to be completed in 2027. This investment brings long-duration institutional capital during India's sustained phase of passenger growth and capacity expansion.
