Octobers with the Most Precipitation in Idaho Since 1895
The rankings use National Centers for Environmental Information data and list monthly precipitation totals, temperature highs, lows and averages for each state.
On Monday, October 5, 2026, Stacker released a ranking of the wettest Octobers in Pennsylvania since 1895 using data from the National Centers for Environmental Information.
Rankings are based on the highest total precipitation in each month, providing Pennsylvania with a comprehensive historical view of autumn weather patterns spanning more than 130 years.
October 1955 recorded 8.92 inches of precipitation, while October 1971 saw 8.73 inches, making these two of Pennsylvania's wettest autumn months in the recorded period.
Additional high-precipitation months include October 1959 with 8.62 inches and October 2009 with 8.49 inches, illustrating significant variability in the state's historical weather.
Long-Term datasets like these allow researchers to analyze regional climate patterns and atmospheric conditions, helping contextualize how Pennsylvania's precipitation levels have evolved since 1895.
