No-fly zone for Iran talks disrupted flights at Zurich airport, authorities say
Skyguide said the fault canceled 12 arrivals and 14 departures and delayed at least 60 more before service resumed.
On Sunday, a technical fault at Skyguide disrupted flights at Zurich Airport, triggered by security measures for Iran-United States peace talks at Buergenstock.
Because security for the talks was finalized on Saturday, Skyguide had to integrate a restricted zone over Buergenstock into its radar display systems at the last minute.
By midday, 12 arrivals and at least 60 departures were cancelled or delayed at Zurich Airport after Skyguide closed airspace east of Bern for several hours.
Operations have since returned to normal, though Skyguide maintained a slight reduction in capacity for overflights until Monday at 08:00 as a precautionary measure.
