Meltwater Expands MCP Tools for AI Integration

The expansion adds governed tools that let AI assistants create reports, track alerts and reuse results from Meltwater’s licensed intelligence.

  • On Wednesday, July 8, Meltwater expanded its Model Context Protocol tools, enabling AI assistants to perform actions directly within the platform for real-time insights and alert tracking.
  • Teams previously faced tradeoffs between using preferred AI tools and accessing trusted data; Meltwater MCP resolves this by providing a governed connector to licensed intelligence analyzing 1.3 billion documents daily.
  • "Meltwater MCP means they don't have to" choose between AI tools and trusted data, said Chief Technology Officer Aditya Jami; Chief Product Officer Chris Hackney added that intelligence should not require specialist expertise.
  • Users can now generate brand health reports or brief trending social media topics through preferred AI assistants without logging into the platform, with results saved and referenced by agents that understand intent.
  • The expansion is now generally available to 27,000 Meltwater customers, shifting functionality from simple summarization to autonomous agents that understand intent and take action within existing workflows.
