- Spanning five decades with the franchise, Martinez served as a catcher from 1981 to 1986, managed the team during 2001 and 2002, and called over 4,000 games as a broadcaster.
- Known for toughness, Martinez executed a memorable 9-2-7-2 double play with a broken leg on July 9, 1985. He also battled cancer diagnoses in 2022 and 2025, returning to call games through the World Series.
- Eleven honourees from the former Level of Excellence joined Martinez at the ceremony. Former teammate Dave Stieb said, "Buck just had a knack for calming me down and keeping me focused."
- Launched to coincide with Toronto's 50th anniversary season, the Hall of Excellence will be relocated within the stadium bowl next year to ensure names remain visible to fans.
