Man dies in crash after pursuit involving police car near Stratford, Warwickshire
A black Audi failed to stop and collided with a Ford Puma after a six-minute pursuit, leaving one man dead and two women injured, police said.
On Monday, a man died and a woman in her 70s remains in critical condition following a collision during a police pursuit near Stratford in Warwickshire.
Officers attempted to stop a black Audi on Birmingham Road at approximately 5:23pm, but the driver failed to stop and fled toward the A46 before returning to Warwick Road.
The Audi collided with a white Ford Puma at around 5:44pm after approximately six minutes of pursuit, with the male driver pronounced dead at the scene and the woman transported to hospital.
Warwickshire Police made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct , which declared an independent investigation at 9:38pm and confirmed it will cooperate fully.
The IOPC investigation remains at an early stage as officials gather information from the post-incident procedure, with Warwick Road closed through Tuesday morning to facilitate ongoing investigation efforts.
