- Officials seized 3.20 lakh kg of stock worth Rs 5.31 crore, uncovering violations including unlicensed operations and the use of tankers previously carrying hazardous materials for edible oil transport.
- Mundhe urged consumers to avoid loose oil, stating, "Loose or unsealed oil is unsafe," and advised checking labels, manufacturing dates, and seals to ensure proper traceability and product safety.
- Violations under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, carry severe penalties, including imprisonment ranging from seven years to life and fines up to Rs 10 lakh for unlicensed operations.
