Lorena Wiebes also sprinted convincingly to victory in the second stage of the Tour of Great Britain. After 111 kilometers in Blackpool, the 27-year-old leader in the general classification left Canadian Maggie Coles-Lyster and Kim Le Court-Pienaar from Mauritius far behind in the mass sprint. The race was halted for some time due to an accident on the course.

Lorena Wiebes also won the second stage of the Tour of Great Britain on Thursday. The 27-year-old Dutch rider from SD Worx-Protime was once again the fastest in a mass sprint. Jasper Philipsen won a remarkably fast stage in the Renewi Tour.
