AP Minister Lokesh to Lay Stone for Rs 2,000 Cr AIG Health Campus Today
The campus will be built in two phases and is expected to handle 5,000 outpatient visits a day, the project details said.
- On Monday, August 31, 2026, Andhra Pradesh Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh laid the foundation stone for a 1,000-bed integrated AIG Hospitals campus in Gambheeram, Visakhapatnam.
- The project is expected to attract an investment of ₹2,000 crore over five years, while also generating employment for around 9,000 people once the hospital becomes fully operational.
- Construction will proceed in two phases, with AIG Hospitals developing the nine-acre campus; the first phase featuring 650 beds is scheduled for completion by October 2028.
- Later, Lokesh inaugurated "Prema Udayam," a six-acre Integrated Community Service Centre established with support from Dr. Sunkara Venkata Adinarayana to combine initiatives for education, social welfare, and healthcare.
- Once fully operational, the hospital is designed to handle around 5,000 outpatient consultations a day, incorporating specialized facilities such as a mother-and-child care unit, a research laboratory, and an artificial intelligence centre.
