The Latvian National Armed Forces (NBS) said it was working with NATO allies to strengthen monitoring of Latvia's airspace and territorial waters during the Saeima elections.
On Saturday Latvia elects a new parliament. After several drone incidents, the country has asked NATO for support. German Eurofighters are also in action. WORLD reporter Carolina Drüten was on site.
Against the background of the Ukraine war there are repeated violations of Baltic airspace. Because Latvia elects a new parliament on 3 October, the government wants to avoid interference by drones. The Bundeswehr sends four fighter jets and dozens of soldiers.
