László Krasznahorkai, the Nobel Prize-winning writer in literature, was awarded an honorary doctorate from ELTE for his outstanding and epoch-making life's work.
As part of the Krasznahorkai Year, a series of festive programs were organized in his honor at Eötvös Loránd University, where the world-famous writer earned a degree in Hungarian Folklore. The highlight of the program was his inauguration as an honorary doctor on Friday, and the opening of the reading room named after him the previous day, followed by a discussion.
This is why László Krasznahorkai found the Mandiner public vote funny - The Nobel Prize-winning writer became an honorary doctor of ELTE.
A reading room was also named in his honor.
