Jemimah Rodrigues Ruled Out of Asia Cup and Asian Games Due to Hamstring Injury
The BCCI said the 25-year-old batter has a high-grade right hamstring tear and will miss the Asia Cup and Asian Games.
On Friday, the BCCI Women's Selection Committee named Pratika Rawal as the replacement for Jemimah Rodrigues in the Asia Cup squad after Rodrigues was ruled out due to injury.
The 25-year-old Rodrigues suffered a high-grade hamstring tear on August 3 while playing for the Southern Brave franchise in England's The Hundred tournament, according to the BCCI Medical Team.
Following clinical assessments at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, the BCCI confirmed a high-grade tear. Rodrigues is currently recovering under medical supervision, having been ruled out of the upcoming Asia Cup and Asian Games.
The Asia Cup will take place in Dubai from August 28 to September 13, with the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side beginning its campaign against Thailand on August 30 and facing Pakistan on September 5.
Scheduled for later this year in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, the Asian Games squad remains unfinalized by India, though the BCCI has officially ruled Rodrigues out of the campaign.
