The Volkswagen crisis is the paradigm of the industrial sector crisis in much of the EU and it is also one of the most prominent symptoms of the situation of setbacks and loss of influence of the European project. Volkswagen’s Supervisory Board approved the first phase of the overall adjustment that envisages the closure of four plants and the dismissal of 100,000 workers in the coming years, 50,000 of them in a first phase until 2029.
