Seat's future beyond 2030 is uncertain, according to Volkswagen, due to the rise of Cupra. Spanish unions are concerned about job losses at the Martorell plant, which employs 12,000 people.
The Spanish manufacturer Seat faces a very uncertain future. Its owner, the German Volkswagen group, plans to gradually withdraw it after 2030 in order to concentrate its investments on Cupra, more dynamic and profitable. Between denials and half-word confirmations, the fate of the Martorell brand and factory is at stake, with the track of a Chinese buyer emerging.
