Hyundai Pumps up Bayon for Second Generation
Hyundai added larger curved displays, wireless smartphone connectivity and a Bose audio option as it targets European buyers with the refreshed compact SUV.
- At the 2026 Paris Motor Show, Hyundai unveiled the redesigned Bayon SUV with sharper exterior lines and dual 12.3-inch curved displays. The automaker describes the vehicle as more than an update rather than a true second generation.
- Hyundai confirmed the redesigned Bayon will not reach the American market, focusing instead on European demand where it will be assembled in Turkey. Current pricing remains unconfirmed, though the prior model started around €16,000.
- Inside, the vehicle offers premium amenities including an 8-speaker Bose sound system, an openable panoramic sunroof, and reclining heated rear seats. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are now standard through the updated digital interface.
- Hyundai will initially offer two 1.0-litre engines delivering up to 80 hp or 113 hp, while a 1.6 HEV 6DCT hybrid joins the lineup in 2027. The hybrid generates 136 hp and 265 Nm of torque.
- The sportier Line trim enhances the Bayon's styling with athletic exterior elements and track-oriented cabin touches, though it provides no mechanical power upgrades. Buyers can further customize the SUV with optional 18-inch wheels and three distinct matte finishes.
