On September 28th, high tides caused flooding in many streets and alleys in Ho Chi Minh City, but in some areas, the water did not rise too deep and receded quite quickly. Notably, experts said this was not the highest tide of the year; tides in October and November could be even higher.
Flooding occurred in many areas of wards near the center of Ho Chi Minh City during periods of no rain or insignificant rainfall. Heavy rain combined with high tides caused deep flooding on many roads in Vinh Long. High tides in Can Tho reached alarm level III. With rising high tides, Vinh Long proactively protected its production areas.
