Health Insurer Centene’s Chief Financial Officer To Step Down
Drew Asher will remain until his retirement at the end of 2027 as Centene brings in veteran finance executive Chris Neczypor, the company said.
On Monday, Centene announced that Chief Financial Officer Drew Asher will step down on December 31, 2026, and retire at year-end 2027, with Chris Neczypor named successor CFO effective January 1, 2027.
Since becoming CFO in 2021, Asher guided Centene through significant growth, with revenue expanding from approximately $126 billion to approximately $195 billion in 2025, establishing a strong foundation for succession.
Neczypor arrives in September as a "seasoned executive with deep experience across corporate finance, strategy, transformation and capital management," per Centene, having previously led Lincoln Financial as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
To ensure a smooth transition, Asher will remain with the company through retirement supporting strategic initiatives, while CEO Sarah London said the organization will benefit from Neczypor's "expertise, energy and perspective."
Centene reaffirms its 2026 adjusted diluted EPS guidance of greater than $4.80 amid the leadership transition, maintaining focus on controlling medical costs and delivering long-term shareholder value.
