- Ryan Anderson, her then-husband who also used racial slurs in the recordings, dismissed the viral clips during a livestream. Anderson claimed, "That's all these recordings are. Smear campaigns against me."
- Blanchard served about eight years before her December 2023 release from Chillicothe Correctional Center. She asserted these attitudes no longer reflect her character, promising to "continue choosing to be better every single day.
