Groom-to-be gunned down just months before his wedding
Police say Daniel Hussein was killed in a shooting after rushing to help a friend, and no arrests have been made.
- On Sunday night, 22-year-old plumber Daniel Hussein was shot dead near HR Uren Reserve on Victoria Drive in Thomastown about 7:30pm. Police cordoned off the area as homicide detectives launched their investigation.
- Hussein reportedly rushed to assist a friend involved in an earlier altercation when he was killed. His father claimed a black Porsche without number plates had trailed his son moments before the shooting.
- Club President Rob Nedelkovski told ABC Radio the shooting was "not related to the club," noting it occurred in a general car park. Family members paid tribute to Hussein, the soon-to-be-married plumber.
- Victoria Police have made no arrests and continue hunting for the killer. Detectives processed the scene overnight, removing a red ute while urging the public to contact Crime Stoppers with information.
