Gunfire on Antioch Pike hits, kills one person inside store
Homicide detectives are investigating after a 55-year-old Frito-Lay employee was struck in the head by a bullet that passed through a store wall.
On September 6, 2026, a bullet from gunfire outside the Sam's Club on Antioch Pike penetrated a metal wall and struck 55-year-old Frito-Lay employee Paris Carlock in the chip aisle, fatally wounding him.
Metro Nashville Police Department investigators report the shooting stemmed from an argument that began inside the nearby Lavo Lounge. After security removed those involved, the dispute continued outside, leading to the gunfire that penetrated the store wall.
Carlock was conducting product inventory in the chip aisle when the bullet struck him in the head. First responders transported the Murfreesboro resident to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The Metro Nashville Police Department Homicide Unit launched an investigation, with detectives pursuing leads, though no arrests or suspect information have been released. Authorities ask anyone with information to call Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
Callers to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous and could qualify for a cash reward. Investigators continue pursuing leads on the vehicles seen leaving the scene to identify the shooter and resolve the case.
