Two of the towns we cover — suburban Guilderland and rural Westerlo — have set public hearings for moratoria on large-scale data centers. We understand that each town wants to protect its residents so we do not oppose these moratoria. But we urge boards to word their local laws in such a way that the moratoria are productive, and then to follow through with the outlined requirements.
