BOGOTA (AP) — More than 30,000 hectares have been consumed by forest fires in Tolima, the department most affected by the emergency in Colombia, and authorities suspect they may have been intentionally set.
The Colombian authorities warned this Monday that some of the forest fires that affect the country and have already consumed more than 20,000 hectares are deliberately caused, in a situation of drought due to the phenomenon of the Child that increases the risk of spreading the flames.
