Maduro ally Alex Saab expected to plead guilty in federal money laundering case
Alex Saab, a close ally of former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, is expected to plead guilty in a federal money laundering case on Tuesday.
Saab was deported in May by Venezuela's acting President Delcy Rodríguez following pressure from the United States, which investigated him for over ten years.
He faces one charge of money laundering related to an alleged conspiracy involving fake companies, falsified shipping records, and profit from government food import contracts.
