German states urge support for car industry amid "historic disruption"
Three German regional states that are home to the nation's largest car manufacturers on Thursday urged the government and European Union leaders to speed up support measures as the industry faces "historic disruptions".
Bavaria, Lower Saxony and Baden-Württemberg warn against "irreversible damage" for the car industry. The heads of state demand more technology openness, less bureaucracy and more flexible CO2 requirements across parties from Berlin and Brussels.
