Gábor Székely, a prominent figure in Hungarian Jewish public life and the civil sphere, passed away on Saturday at the age of 79. The former head of Szerencsejáték Zrt., former deputy mayor and president of several influential cultural foundations, led the Eger Jewish Community in the last months of his life, the Hungarian Association of Jewish Communities (Mazsihisz) announced.
