The fire of the Gros Bessillon, the longest in the history of the Var, is extinguished after "a month of combat" and 6,300 hectares travelled, the prefecture said Tuesday.
This fire, first declared on 21 July in a field of the village of Pontevès, in the heart of the "Green Provence", had seen several times, some of which could be of criminal origin, before being fixed on 7 August.
