European Parliament vice president praises Hsiao as 'role model' for women
Ventotene, Italy, Sept. 12 (CNA) European Parliament Vice President Pina Picierno on Saturday praised Taiwanese Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) as a role model for freedom-loving women around the world and told CNA that she would soon begin planning a trip to Taipei after accepting Hsiao's invitation to visit.
European Parliament Vice President Picciello's invitation to ROC Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim to speak in Italy has drawn strong protests from the Chinese Communist Party. During his joint address with Hsiao on the evening of the 11th, Picciello not only forcefully retorted that "China has no right to decide," but also revealed that he had accepted Hsiao's invitation and would be visiting Taiwan soon.
