Enter Shikari to Go on Indefinite Hiatus at End of 2027
The band said new music is coming before the break and ruled out a farewell world tour, while planning anniversary shows for three albums.
On October 1st, St Albans-founded band Enter Shikari announced an indefinite hiatus, stating they will "fall dormant as a recording and performing entity" starting December 31, 2027.
Lead vocalist Rou Reynolds and bandmates cited changing "priorities and capabilities" after two decades, with the group noting mental health impacts from professional music-making as reasons for the break.
Although Enter Shikari will continue recording and touring through 2027, the band confirmed they will not be doing an official "farewell world tour" before the hiatus begins.
The group hopes to visit favorite venues "one last time" while focusing on making their upcoming arena tour the "absolute best it can be," though feasibility remains uncertain.
2027 marks 20 years since the release of their debut album Take to the Skies; the band noted the hiatus "may end with an eruption back into activity, or may end with extinction.
