Colorado State Defensive Coordinator Tyson Summers No Longer with Program; CSU Falls 56-26

Jim Mora said the Rams have allowed 115 points over two weeks and 52 per game over their last three games.

  • On Saturday, Colorado State lost 56-26 to Oregon State, marking their third consecutive defeat. Head coach Jim Mora relieved defensive coordinator Tyson Summers of his play-calling duties during the game, ending his tenure with the program.
  • Defensive struggles prompted the mid-game change, as the Rams surrendered at least 41 points in each of their last three losses. These failures allowed opponents to compile more than 1,100 yards of offense during that span.
  • At Canvas Stadium, Oregon State compiled 651 yards of total offense in the victory. Beavers quarterback Braden Atkinson led the effort, completing 31 of 34 passes for 413 yards and five touchdowns.
  • Assistant head coach Kenny McClendon will take over as the team's defensive coordinator. Mora said of McClendon, "He's got a ton of integrity," noting they have worked together for five years.
  • Now 2-3 on the season, the Rams enter a bye week following the coaching change. The team returns to action Oct. 15 against Texas State in San Marcos, Texas.
