Dwayne McDougle's Pick-6 Turns Game Nebraska's Way in a 48-23 Victory over Maryland

Nebraska defeated Maryland 48-23 at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, preserving an undefeated 5-0 start to the season.
Trailing 23-14 midway through the second quarter, Nebraska's momentum shifted when defensive back Dwayne McDougle III intercepted Maryland quarterback Malik Washington's pass and returned it 81 yards for a touchdown.
Nebraska quarterback Anthony Colandrea recorded 108 rushing yards and 238 passing yards with three touchdowns, while wide receiver Kwazi Gilmer added 147 receiving yards and two scores.
The contest featured 28 total penalties resulting in 247 yards, the most in a Bowl Subdivision game since 2021, while Maryland's offense managed only 62 yards after halftime.
Currently 5-0, the Cornhuskers prepare to host defending national champion Indiana at Memorial Stadium next week, aiming to extend their best season start since 2016.
