Dale ‘Hoagie’ Haagenson, heart of UMD hockey programs, dies at 65

DULUTH — The heart and soul of Bulldogs hockey has passed away. Dale “Hoagie” Haagenson died at the age of 65 on Tuesday night at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. The University of Minnesota Duluth Athletic Hall of Famer suffered a stroke on Christmas Day.
