The deputy governor of Sistan and Baluchestan said: "Groups hostile to the Islamic Republic of Iran, who were seeking to disrupt public security and carry out sabotage and terrorist acts, had gathered in a point in the city of Saravan. They were surprised and severely hit by the intelligence and vigilance of the revolutionary forces."
Clashes have reportedly broken out between Iranian security forces and armed groups in Saravan, Sistan-Baluchestan Province, according to Iran's Tasnim news agency.
This morning, security forces launched an operation in Saravan city to clear a headquarters of anti-security elements and it is still ongoing.
The deputy security and law enforcement officer of the governor of Sistan and Baluchestan announced the identification and decisive blow of the revolutionary forces and security guards to a terrorist group's hideout in Saravan.
