The elections to be held in the Magdeburger Landtag bring the CDU into need of explanation. Hard criticism comes from the SPD. The topic is also to come up at the coalition committee in Berlin.
Before the election of the president of the Landtag there was supposed to have been a secret agreement between CDU and AfD: Some CDU MEPs would therefore support AfD candidate Tobias Rausch, in return the AfD MEPs would vote for a vice-president of the CDU.
The President of the AfD Landtag got four more votes than expected. According to the ZEIT, the result is based on a deal with representatives of the Union.
The leadership of the Parliament of Saxony-Anhalt goes to the candidate of the Weidel party. To support it also four Christian Democrats: fear for the election of the governor
