Fife AI Data Centre Campaigners Join Demo at Scottish Parliament
Campaigners said at least 20 proposed AI data centres could strain water and power supplies before safeguards are set.

- Hazel McQueen, an organiser from the Say NO To Larbert Data Centre group, told the Press Association that Larbert alone received 7,000 objections to the proposed development.
- Public Finance Minister Hannah Mary Goodlad stated the government must balance economic interests with community wealth building, while authorities now require notification for applications exceeding 50 megawatts.
- Wendy Kimpton, director of strategy and regulation at Scottish Water, said the corporation is in conversation with about half of the 24 companies proposing data centres.
