Bus driver arrested after 14-year-old boy dies following collision with vehicle in Portsmouth
Police say the 39-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving as enquiries continue.
A 14-year-old boy from Portsmouth died on Monday following a collision with a Stagecoach bus at The Hard, a major transport hub in the city.
Hampshire Police arrested the 39-year-old bus driver on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving; he was released on bail until November 17.
Tributes have been left at the scene, including flowers and a note reading "RIP Fly High" that recalled, "I will never forget our memories. We had such a good time in science."
Police request that anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses relevant dash cam or CCTV footage contact them by calling 101 and quoting reference 44260399748.
Specialist officers are supporting the boy's family as the investigation into the collision at The Hard remains ongoing.
