Buc-Ee's Opens First Arkansas Location as Chain Expands Across US
The 74,000-square-foot store is the chain’s 58th U.S. location and drew fans who lined up hours early for brisket sandwiches and beaver nuggets.
Arkansas' first Buc-ee's opened in Benton on Monday, featuring a 74,000-square-foot facility with 120 fueling positions, marking the Texas-based travel center chain's 58th location nationwide.
Founded in 1982, Buc-ee's operates 37 stores in Texas and continues aggressive expansion across the United States, extending its roadside brand into new regional markets.
Located at 1400 Highway 229, the travel center creates more than 200 jobs for the region. Stan Beard of Buc-ee's called Benton the 'Heart of Arkansas' for travelers.
Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, U.S. Representative French Hill, U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton, and Benton Mayor Tom Farmer attended the 10 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony as enthusiastic crowds gathered.
Future expansion plans include 2027 openings in Louisiana, Kansas, and Tennessee, with additional sites scheduled for 2029 in West Memphis, Arkansas; Ocala, Florida; and Oak Grove, Kentucky.
