After Olympic gold 2024 in Paris and twice World Cup bronze (2024, 2026) the Lower Austrian won silver at the Formula Kite European Championship in the Turkish Akyaka. "It's my first EM medal. I'm mega, mega happy. I can't believe we were able to deliver in the comeback season and here at our main event," cried Bontus on Saturday after a "difficult week".

In the four races on Friday, the Lower Austrian qualified for the medal decision on Saturday. Overall, Bontus ranked fifth in the regatta, while the overall leader Maximilian Maeder from Singapore falls from the EM classification.
