According to The Himalayan Times, they are equipped with state-of-the-art search and rescue equipment, including a RECCO detector. On Tuesday, two of the victims – Paolo Cocco from Italy and Christian Andre Manfredi from France – had already been rescued by local rescue teams up to six metres high and transferred to Kathmandu by helicopter.The avalanche had surprised a 15-member expedition group on Monday morning at about 5630 metres altitude.
