Here’s How Much Apple Is Paying John Ternus as CEO, Tim Cook as Executive Chairman
The package includes a $3 million salary and equity awards tied to Apple’s performance against S&P 500 companies.
On Tuesday, John Ternus officially took over as Apple CEO, with the company revealing a $58 million annual compensation package in an SEC filing.
Ternus's $58 million package includes a $3 million salary and $55 million in annual equity awards beginning fiscal 2027, with 75% performance-based and 25% time-based RSUs.
Meanwhile, former Apple CEO Tim Cook transitioned to executive chairman, receiving a $47 million compensation package including a $2 million salary and $45 million in equity awards.
Cook will manage Apple's relationships with President Trump and the Chinese government in his new capacity, while executive Eddy Cue adds App Store oversight to his responsibilities.
Ternus also received a one-time prorated $2.5 million restricted stock unit grant for his 2026 service, marking the end of Cook's 15-year tenure as CEO.
