In Lokeren, another horse has tested positive for swamp fever. The infected horse is being euthanized to prevent further spread. It is not yet clear whether other horses are infected. There was also a swamp fever outbreak at the riding school last year. The Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FAVV) is investigating whether there is a link between the two cases.
Another case of swamp fever has been confirmed in a horse in Lokeren, East Flanders, reports the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FAVV). “To prevent further spread, the infected horse will be euthanized,” states the FAVV.
