The Spanish government has given the green light to a €5.4 billion deal with Poland for the purchase of Airbus A330 MRTT refueling aircraft. The contract will run for seven years and covers not only the aircraft but also the logistical support needed to bring them into service.
The Spanish government announced the approval of a framework agreement for the purchase of A330 MRTT air tankers under the SAFE program. Spain will play a leading role in this program, and the purchase will be made jointly with Poland.
