Donor revives fraud claims against Christian worship leader Sean Feucht over a $250,000 donation
The amended complaint says Feucht sought $250,000 for a tour that was already fully financed, after a judge dismissed the original suit.
On Wednesday, Orange County philanthropist Steve Bray filed an amended federal lawsuit accusing Christian musician Sean Feucht of soliciting a $250,000 donation for a 2023 concert tour already fully financed by the late Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA.
Bray met Feucht in Anaheim on March 6, 2023, regarding the Kingdom to Capitol Tour, agreeing to fund five stops for $250,000 before discovering the entire concert series was already fully funded.
A federal judge previously dismissed the original lawsuit on Sept. 9, citing insufficient evidence, but granted Bray 20 days to file an amended complaint with more specifics and proof.
Feucht's spokesperson stated he "looks forward to this case being dismissed," while Feucht dismissed recent abuse allegations from former volunteers as claims made by "disgruntled" individuals.
Accountability watchdog MinistryWatch noted Sean Feucht Ministries stopped filing tax forms after 2020 while amassing more than $7 million in real estate, raising broader questions about fund management.
