Number of places in the 1st phase of access to Higher Education increases, after an abrupt fall occurred in 2025. There are about 6600 vacancies left for the 2nd phase. More than half of the candidates entered the first option.

This is the largest number of places in the last decade with the exception of 2020, says the Ministry of Education.
More than half of the candidates were placed in their first choice. There are 6639 places available in the 2nd phase which starts on Monday.
In total, 49,991 candidates were placed, more 6,092 than last year, according to data released by the Ministry of Education.
Near 50,000 students were placed in the first phase of the national competition for access to higher education, occupying 88.9% of the vacancies, the Ministry of Education announced today, two days before the publication of the results.
