19-year-old man arrested in connection with death of Daniel Colrain in Glasgow
Police say a 19-year-old was arrested as enquiries continue after Daniel Colrain, 21, died from injuries suffered in the disturbance.
On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, a 19-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the death of 21-year-old Daniel Colrain, who died on Monday, October 5, 2026.
Police were alerted to a "disturbance" in Royal Exchange Square at around 3.05am on Sunday, October 4, 2026, where Colrain sustained serious injuries during the incident.
A 20-year-old man has also been charged in connection with the incident, while another 21-year-old man sustained minor injuries and a second 19-year-old was previously released pending further enquiries.
Staff at The Old Smiddy Bar launched a fundraiser to assist with funeral costs, which has now surpassed £18,000 to support Colrain's family.
Detective Inspector Jonny MacKinnon of Greater Glasgow CID confirmed that enquiries remain ongoing, thanking the public for their assistance with the investigation.
