During the 1980s Phil was a staunch supporter of CRFC, serving on the Committee, Captaining the 3rd XV and playing prop for the 1st XV – a proud occasion for Phil, being part of the 1982/83 winning team in Canterbury’s first floodlight tournament. The front row recruits are headed by Harry Drane, from Welsh Super League side Pontypool, and he is joined by Dutch Under 20 international Maik Timmerman, Westcombe Park; Lewis Young, Saracens Academy and Carter Oliver, from Brighton.
