Area Farmers’ Markets Receive State Grants – R & J Broadcasting Inc.

The Kinfolk Market in Ada and Crookston Farmers’ Market Association have received grants from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture’s Farmers’ Market Nutrition Assistance Grant Program.  The Kinfolk Market received a $10,000 grant, while the Crookston Farmers’ Market Association received $5,485.  These grants are meant to help strengthen and expand nutrition assistance.  29 farmers’ markets across Minnesota received these grants from the Depar…Read Article

Cook Re-Ups As ABW Superintendent – R & J Broadcasting Inc.

ADA, MN—Two more years.  The Ada-Borup-West School Board Tuesday approved a new two year contract for superintendent Aaron Cook.  The new contract calls for a pay increase for Cook’s superintendent and business management roles.  The amount of Cook’s pay increase wasn’t announced.  The School Board’s vote to approve Cook’s new contract was 6-1, with Nancy Crompton the only Board member voting against. Tractor & Farm Safety Training In Ada For Youth – R & J Broadcasting Inc.

The University of Minnesota Extension will offer a youth tractor and farm safety training this summer at the Norman County Fairgrounds in Ada.  U of M Extension educator Emily Krekelberg says this will be one of five training courses held in Minnesota this summer. Ada Firefighters respond to grass fires – R & J Broadcasting Inc.
