New High of 45% in U.S. Identify as Political Independents: Gallup

A record number of American adults identify as political independents, according to new Gallup data, which also show an uptick in Democratic-leaning voters. In Gallup surveys conducted throughout 2025, 45 percent of Americans say they consider themselves political independents, up from 43 percent in 2024 and 2023 and 41 percent in 2022. The previous record-high of 43 percent was also recorded in 2014.See the Story
